  • End Pieces of Bread

I choose to defend these pieces.

They always get ignored or thrown away.

Why would we do such a thing?

Garlic Bread Wisdom #1 — Officially?

We need to talk about the end pieces.

The ones no one picks first.

The crusty ends of the loaf.

The ones that get left behind in the bag…

until they’re the only thing left.

    But here’s the truth:

The end pieces were NEVER the problem.

They were just different. Maybe less appealing, sure.

But more than just the end of the loaf —

they’re the backbone of the loaf.

They need to be toasted to be enjoyed.

They kept the soft slices safe.

    They defended them from damage.

    Held it all together.

    And got ignored.

    And you know what?

Slap some garlic butter on one of those pieces and toast it.

It becomes the crunch you didn’t know you needed.

The edge that cuts through the sad moments of life.

Next time, I better not see you toss it.

    DO NOT SKIP IT.

It deserves to live and be enjoyed…

just like every other part of the loaf you bought.

Enjoy the rest of your day, whoever you are.

  • Motivation Post for Everyone

    You don’t need a reason.

You don’t need a special occasion.

    You don’t need guests.

    You don’t even need pasta.

You can make garlic bread just because.

    Right now.

    For yourself.

I prefer Wegmans garlic bread toasted when fresh.

You could have your own favorite and I don’t judge.

It can be any type of bread with garlic and bread form, and hey, that’s your own garlic bread concoction.

“Garlic bread, it’s the future, I’ve tasted it.”

    — Peter Kay

I’m not sure who that guy might be but it sounds like he’s someone I trust.

That is really all I gotta say this week.

Thank you for coming to my TEDx.

  • What Actually Counts as Garlic Bread?

You think you know garlic bread.
    But do you really?

We are going to unpack the core of garlic bread. What fits under this broad umbrella. Because it’s more than just garlic bread.

Core Members of the Garlic Bread Family
Classic Garlic Bread – sliced loaf, toasted with garlic butter.

Texas Toast – thick white bread, frozen or fresh, double-buttered.

Garlic Knots – doughy, twisty, already proven part of the fam.

Cheesy Garlic Bread – when garlic bread levels up with cheese.

Garlic Naan – don’t fight me. Flatbread + garlic = garlic bread with a unique look.

Extended Family (Still Welcome at Dinner)
Maybe not on every menu, but they get invited to the reunion:

    Garlic Breadsticks

    Garlic Rolls

    Garlic Ciabatta / Focaccia

Pizza crust brushed with garlic butter

Garlic Monkey Bread – pull-apart bread? Still counts.

    Borderline Cousins (Controversial but Defendable)
Garlic Pretzel Bites – garlic? bread? Technically. Pretzels are a bread product sooo…

    Rule of Thumb:
If it’s made of bread and tastes like garlic,
I consider it garlic bread. Fight me.

I disabled the comments. But who knows. Maybe one day I’ll reenable them for you to share your debates.

Call it what you want — toast, naan, knot, roll — doesn’t matter.
If it has garlic and the composition of a bread, it can be considered a part of the family. Some closer than others, but related.

“Garlic bread is my favorite food. I could honestly eat it for every meal. Or just eat it all the time without even stopping.”
